8 Day Itinerary
Day 1 Adelaide & The David Roche Foundation

Meet our Tour Manager and fellow travellers at the Adelaide Marriott Hotel before setting off on a guided introduction to Adelaide. A highlight of the afternoon is a visit to the renowned David Roche Foundation, home to one of Australia’s most significant collections of fine art, antiques and decorative treasures.

This evening, gather for our included Welcome Dinner, providing the perfect opportunity to get to know our travelling companions and learn more about the journey ahead.

Day 2 Barossa Valley, AL-RU Farm & Seppeltsfield

Today is devoted to the picturesque Barossa Valley, one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions.

Visit the beautiful private garden at AL-RU Farm, where sweeping lawns, water features and mature plantings create a tranquil rural setting.

Later, visit the historic Seppeltsfield Winery, famous for its magnificent avenue of date palms. Enjoy a guided tour followed by a tasting of the region’s acclaimed wines.

Day 3 Adelaide Hills, The Cedars & Hahndorf

Travel into the scenic Adelaide Hills, where you’ll visit delightful private gardens showcasing the beauty and diversity of the region including The Cedars, the former home and studio of renowned Australian landscape artist Hans Heysen. Surrounded by the majestic gum trees that inspired many of his most celebrated works, this historic property offers a fascinating glimpse into the artist’s life.

Then to Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement, Hahndorf – known for its charming heritage buildings, boutique shops, cellar doors and inviting cafés. Enjoy free time to explore at our own pace.

Day 4 Carrick Hill, Historic Estates & Botanic Garden

Begin the day with a visit to Carrick Hill, one of Adelaide’s finest heritage estates. Explore the elegant manor house and beautifully maintained gardens before discovering the Australian Museum of Gardening, whose fascinating collection spans almost four centuries of gardening history.

Later, visit Old Government House, located within the peaceful surrounds of Belair National Park. This beautifully preserved residence offers a glimpse into South Australia’s colonial past and is complemented by lovely heritage gardens.

This afternoon, choose between exploring the impressive Art Gallery of South Australia or joining our Botanical Guide for a relaxed walk through the magnificent Adelaide Botanic Garden.

Day 5 Adelaide to Clare Valley

Farewell Adelaide as you journey north towards the picturesque Clare Valley. Our first stop is the iconic Haigh’s Chocolate Factory, where you’ll learn about the art of chocolate making and enjoy a tasting of their famous creations.

Continue to historic Anlaby House and Garden, one of South Australia’s grand pastoral estates. Later, visit a local winery to sample regional wines before settling into our Clare Valley accommodation.

Day 6 Martindale Hall, Burra & Bungaree Station

Step back in time today with a visit to the magnificent Martindale Hall. This grand country mansion offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of wealthy pastoral families during the late nineteenth century. Explore the elegant interiors, formal gardens and charming maze.

Continue to the historic township of Burra, one of Australia’s best-preserved heritage towns, where you’ll enjoy a lunch break and time to appreciate its colonial character.

This afternoon, visit Bungaree Station, one of South Australia’s oldest working sheep stations. Rich in history and rural tradition, Bungaree offers a wonderful glimpse into the state’s pastoral heritage. Then we return to our accommodation for our included Farewell dinner.

Day 7 The Heritage Garden

Before returning to Adelaide, visit one of the Clare Valley’s most celebrated private gardens, The Heritage Garden. Created with dedication and passion by Kay Duncan, this remarkable country garden is home to more than 2,000 rose bushes, mature trees, tranquil pathways and colourful seasonal displays.

This afternoon we return to Adelaide. Free time this afternoon to relax or explore at leisure.
