Itinerary
Day 1: Munich
Transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure. At 6:00 pm, meet your Tour Director before enjoying a welcome dinner with your travelling companions.

Day 2: Munich – Neuschwanstein – Oberammergau
Enjoy an orientation tour of Munich featuring Marienplatz, the Old and New Town Hall, and visit the Frauenkirche. Continue into the Bavarian Alps to Neuschwanstein for a guided visit to King Ludwig’s Castle. Stop for photographs of the beautiful baroque Church of Wies before arriving in the picturesque village of Oberammergau.

Day 3: Oberammergau
Today is the highlight of your journey as you experience the world-famous Oberammergau Passion Play. Held only once every ten years, this remarkable performance is presented by members of the local community and is one of Europe’s most celebrated cultural and religious events.

Day 4: Oberammergau – Innsbruck – Liechtenstein – Einsiedeln – Lucerne
Travel through the Tyrolean Alps to Innsbruck for photographs of the famous Golden Roof. Continue to Vaduz in the Principality of Liechtenstein for a lunch stop before crossing into Switzerland. Visit Einsiedeln, Switzerland’s best-known pilgrimage destination, including the magnificent Baroque Abbey Church. Continue to the lakeside city of Lucerne.

Day 5: Lucerne
This morning’s walking tour includes the Lion Monument, the iconic Chapel Bridge, the Cathedral of St. Leodegar and the beautiful Jesuit Church. The afternoon is free to explore Lucerne at your own pace, shop for Swiss watches, enjoy a lake cruise or take an optional mountain excursion. This evening, you may wish to attend a traditional Swiss folklore show featuring yodelling and alphorn performances.

Day 6: Lucerne – Karlsruhe
Travel to the spectacular Rhine Falls at Schaffhausen, Europe’s largest waterfall. Continue north into Germany’s famous Black Forest, renowned for its picturesque scenery and traditional cuckoo clocks, before arriving in Karlsruhe.

Day 7: Karlsruhe – Trier – Aachen – Cologne
Visit Trier, Germany’s oldest city and once one of the most important centres of the Western Roman Empire. Highlights include the Porta Nigra, the Romanesque Cathedral and the Dreikönigenhaus. Continue to Aachen to visit its magnificent UNESCO-listed Cathedral, where 30 Holy Roman Emperors were crowned between the 10th and 16th centuries. This evening, arrive in Cologne.

Day 8: Cologne – Rüdesheim – Frankfurt
Enjoy a guided visit to Cologne’s magnificent Gothic Cathedral before boarding a scenic Rhine River cruise to Rüdesheim, famous for its Riesling wines. Sample local wines during a tasting before a farewell dinner. Later, continue to Frankfurt for your overnight stay.
