sightseeing tour of Tokyo, a visit Meiji Shrine and the Imperial Palace, stunning
views from Mt Fuji’s 5th Station, a cruise the serene waters of Lake
Kawaguchiko, Nara Park, home to over a thousand free-roaming deer, the
ancient capital of Kyoto, views of Owakudani, the over 100 sculptures at the
Hakone Open Air Museum, Japan’s famous Kiyomizudera Temple and historic
Todaiji Temple.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Tokyo
On arrival, transfer to your hotel for the chance to meet our fellow travellers. Dinner own arrangements. Overnight: Hotel Mystays Tachikawa or similar, Tokyo.
Day 2 – Tokyo
This morning, explore Tokyo’s iconic sights. Step into the serenity of the Meiji Shrine, shaded by towering trees, before continuing to the Imperial Palace – steeped in history and surrounded by peaceful gardens and moats. Our tour concludes around lunchtime, leaving your afternoon free to explore at leisure. Overnight: Tokyo. B
Day 3 – Tokyo
A full day to discover Tokyo your way – perhaps shopping, gardens, or a quiet café. Overnight: Tokyo. B
Day 4 – Mt Fuji, Lake Kawaguchiko, Aichi
Travel to Mt Fuji’s 5th Station for breathtaking views, then enjoy a gentle cruise on Lake Kawaguchiko. On a clear day, the lake perfectly reflects Mt Fuji. Later, continue to the Aichi region for your overnight stay. Overnight: Route-Inn Grantia Komaki or similar, Aichi area. B
Day 5 – Kyoto, Osaka
Today, visit Kyoto’s famous Kiyomizudera Temple, a UNESCO site with a stunning hillside wooden stage. Afterwards, enjoy free time in Kyoto’s historic centre or join an optional guided tour. In the evening, travel on to Osaka. Optional Tour: Fushimi Inari Shrine, Golden Pavilion, and Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Overnight: Hotel Sobial Osaka Dome or similar, Osaka. B
Day 6 – Osaka, Hiroshima
Spend the day at leisure in Osaka – or join an optional day trip by bullet train to Hiroshima and Miyajima Island, including the Peace Memorial Park and Itsukushima Shrine. Overnight: Osaka. B
Day 7 – Nara, Shizuoka
This morning visit Nara Park, home to friendly bowing deer, and see the grand Todaiji Temple with its Great Buddha. In the afternoon, travel on to the Shizuoka region. Overnight: Hotel MyStay Shimizu or similar, Shizuoka. B
Day 8 – Hakone, Tokyo
Journey through scenic Hakone, part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Visit Owakudani’s volcanic valley, then enjoy the Hakone Open-Air Museum, a beautiful mountainside sculpture park. We then return to Tokyo and our hotel ready for tomorrow’s departure. Overnight: APA Hotel Haneda Airport or similar / Narita Tobu Hotel or similar. B
Day 9 – Tokyo
Relax until your transfer to the airport for onward travel. B
