Itinerary

Commences and concludes Port Villa.

Day 1 — Arrive Port Vila (Efate)

Arrive at Port Vila, settle into your hotel and take the afternoon to stroll the waterfront and visit the lively market where you can buy fresh fruit and local handicrafts. In the evening enjoy a relaxed (included) Welcome dinner and watch the sunset. D

Day 2 — Efate

Cultural visit and waterfall: In the morning visit a kastom village for a cultural demonstration and traditional dance, then have lunch in town. Spend the afternoon at Mele Cascades where a short walk brings you to a pretty waterfall and a refreshing swim. Return to town for a comfortable dinner. B

Day 3 — Efate

Blue Lagoon and snorkeling: Take a full-day boat trip to Hideaway Island or the Blue Lagoon for easy snorkeling, a glass-bottom boat experience and a beach picnic. Return to Port Vila in the evening for seafood or a Melanesian-style meal. B

Day 4 — Efate

History and relaxation: Enjoy a morning tour of WWII sites or an easy snorkel at wreck viewing spots with a local guide. Spend the afternoon relaxing at your hotel or having a spa treatment, and prepare for your trip to Tanna the next day. B

Day 5 — Travel to Tanna

Fly from Port Vila to Tanna in the morning (about 45–60 minutes). After arriving and settling into a lodge near Lenakel or the White Grass Plains, have lunch and enjoy a gentle village visit or a coffee plantation tour. In the evening relax and, if you wish, do some stargazing—the skies on Tanna are very clear.

Day 6 — Tanna: Mount Yasur and culture

Rise early for a guided visit to Mount Yasur. A short, guided walk brings you to a safe viewing rim where you can watch the volcanic activity—your guide will take care of the practical details. Return to your lodge for lunch and a rest, then visit local villages in the afternoon to learn more about kastom and local life. Many travellers also choose a guided night visit to see the volcano’s evening activity; follow your guide’s safety advice. B

Day 7 — Return to Port Vila and depart

Fly back to Port Vila in the morning. If your international flight leaves that day, allow plenty of connection time; if not, enjoy a final afternoon in Port Vila for shopping or a last swim before your departure. B
