Itinerary
Upon our arrival at Istanbul International Airport, your guide will meet, assist and transfer you to the hotel. Istanbul crosses two continents Europe and Asia. It is a city of history, bazaars, minarets, churches, palaces, museums and restaurants catering to every taste. Overnight in Istanbul.
After breakfast we depart for Istanbul City Tour. We will visit to SULTANAHMET IMPERIAL MOSQUE. It is located across from St. Sophia and it built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the BLUE MOSQUE because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles. After that, we see the ANCIENT HIPPODROME, the scene of Roman chariot races, with three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine.
Next we visit HAGIA SOPHIA - previously the largest church in the world, decorated with stunning 6th century golden mosaics. After a lunch break, we take you to the ASIL EFENDI - a unique market atmosphere with reasonable prices. Here you will find; exotic spices and herbs, Turkish baklava, Turkish Delights, Turkish coffee, nuts and fruits, small souvenirs, naturel olive oil, soaps and many other goods. In this labyrinth of streets and passages there are more than 4,000 shops with each trade having its own area - goldsmiths' street, carpet sellers, and Turkish arts and crafts, such as hand painted ceramic plates, hand-honed copperware, brassware and trays, onyx- ware and quaint meerschaum pipes. After breakfast we start your fully guided tour of Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient sites in the world. See the Temple of Artemis, Curetes Street, famous Roman baths, Celsius Library, Grand theatre. After the lunch break, we will visit a place which continues to perform one of the oldest arts of Turkey; a carpet weaving center then to Sirince Village.
